Hi. I'm Dave.
I was born and raised in Maine. Lobster and seafood are personal to me—not just something we put on the menu.
After 25 years in the outdoor business, I left corporate life to make more room for family. Naturally, I opened a beer cafe—which is not how most people create free time.
Maine Beer Cafe started with a love of craft beer. The menu grew bigger than our little kitchen had any business handling. Then the lobster rolls took over. What started as a beer cafe became Dave’s Maine Cafe, with Maine seafood at the heart of it.
I’ve shared the whole sideways story on Facebook—the good days, the sold-out days, and the ideas that probably should have stayed in my head. Now it includes Route One Bottling Co. sodas and sauces, and a pickleball addiction. Apparently one project at a time wasn’t enough.
